About Us
Best Real Money Poker Apps is an independent comparison site for people who play, or are thinking about playing, online poker for real money in the United States. We research poker sites and apps, put the findings side by side, and explain the trade-offs so you can decide where, or whether, to play. This page explains who we write for, how we rank sites, how we earn money and what we can't tell you.
You must be 21 or older to use the poker and gambling sites we cover. A few states set the minimum age at 18 for some products, but we write for adults aged 21 and over. Poker involves real financial risk and you can lose money. If gambling is causing you problems, call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). You can also read our responsible gambling page.
Our commercial relationships, stated plainly
We may earn a commission when you register or deposit with a site through links on this website. That is a material connection under FTC endorsement guidelines, and we want you to know about it before you read any recommendation. Commission does not buy position. Payment does not change a rating, and no operator can pay to be ranked higher or to have a weakness left out of a write-up.
What we set out to do
- Compare poker sites on the things players actually weigh: game variety, player traffic, bonuses, deposit and cash-out options, mobile play and support.
- Keep promotions tied to their conditions, so a headline figure never appears without the rules behind it.
- Separate what is confirmed from what is operator advertising and from what we couldn't verify.
- Stay honest that poker is a game of skill and chance, where skill does not remove the risk of losing.
We assume you already know how the game works. Our focus is on the operators, not the rules.
How we assess poker sites
Our rankings come from desk research and review of publicly available information. They come from no claim that our team has deposited, played or withdrawn at any site. Where we cite something, it is information published by the operator, a regulator or a software provider. We check it on the fact-check date shown on each page. This site's most recent fact-check date is September 30, 2026.
The main factors behind an editorial rating are:
- Games and formats: cash games, tournaments, Sit & Gos, Spin-style lotteries, fast-fold, and variants such as No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha.
- Traffic and player pool: how easily you can expect to find games at your stakes, and how recreational the pool looks. Where we have no verified traffic data, we don't publish numbers.
- Bonuses and rewards: welcome offers, deposit matches, rakeback or loyalty schemes, and especially the playthrough rules and time limits.
- Payments: available deposit and withdrawal methods for US customers, including crypto where offered, plus stated fees, limits and timing.
- Software and mobile: client quality, iOS and Android access, and tracking tool policies.
- Trust and support: stated licensing, verification (KYC) requirements, fair-play claims and customer service.
Our ratings are editorial opinions. They are not customer-review scores and they are not a promise of how your own experience will go.
The sites we currently feature
Our ranking currently covers Coinpoker, Bovada, Stake.us, Ignition, Americas Card Room, Black Chip Poker, Ya Poker, BC Poker, Betonline and Jack Poker. The ranked cards on our pages show the current headline offers. Every offer comes with terms, which normally include minimum deposits, wagering or playthrough requirements, expiry dates and regional eligibility. Read them on the operator's own site before you deposit.
As an example of why the detail matters, Coinpoker's $30M Battle of Malta Online Series is a tournament series and not a deposit match. Stake.us, meanwhile, advertises Stake Cash and Gold Coins, which works differently from a cash-deposit poker room. Bonuses such as the 100% match up to $500 at Bovada or up to $2,000 at Americas Card Room have conditions attached that decide how much they are actually worth to you.
Legal status in the United States: what we can and can't say
Online poker law in the US is set state by state. Some states regulate real money online poker through a state gaming commission or board, while others restrict or prohibit it. A site that accepts US customers is not necessarily licensed in your state. Always confirm that an operator is legal where you live, and check your state regulator's site for current rules. We don't claim licences on any operator's behalf that we haven't verified. Laws and site availability change, so treat our pages as a starting point.
Payment options, currency handling and account restrictions also vary. We recommend checking that a payment method works for US accounts before you rely on it, and that your funds are held in USD or that you understand any conversion costs.
What we can't tell you
- We can't guarantee withdrawals, winnings or any particular result.
- We can't tell you a site is completely safe. No poker room is risk-free.
- We don't present poker as an income source or a way to fix money problems.
- We don't publish traffic figures, bonus values or reviews we can't verify.
Play within limits
Only play with money you can afford to lose. Set deposit and time limits, never chase losses, and use self-exclusion tools if you need them. We respect state self-exclusion programs and will never suggest ways around them. Help is available through 1-800-GAMBLER, and your state may offer its own resources. Our responsible gambling page has more detail.
